Established in
2001, Velasquez Artistry became Brightly Hude Studio in 2011,
after my marriage and move from CA to WA. Known best
for my equine sculptures
in ceramic and resin, other animals continue to fascinate and find
their way
into my art. The Arts &
Crafts movements from the turn of the last century have
been a big influence on my work, with their attention to craftsmanship
and
their incorporation of natural forms. And while I find the natural,
physical world
to be inspiring, I find the
spiritual realm resonates equally.
I believe the former draws one towards the latter.
Many thanks to God, my outstanding mentors, my family and friends,
and my wonderful husband for love, support,
and instruction along the way.
